Authorship Criteria

1. General Principles
Alamtara: Jurnal Komunikasi dan Penyiaran Islam determines authorship based on substantial intellectual contributions to the research and the preparation of the scientific manuscript. Authorship status is granted to individuals who contribute significantly to the formulation of ideas, research design, execution, data collection, analysis, interpretation of results, and the drafting or refining of the manuscript. All individuals listed as authors must meet all the authorship criteria set out in this policy. Individuals who contributed to the research but do not meet all criteria for authorship should be listed in the "Acknowledgement" section, reflecting their specific contributions, with their explicit consent.

2. Authorship Criteria
To be listed as an author of an article in Alamtara, every individual must meet all four of the following criteria:

  1. Substantial Contribution to the Research: Made a significant contribution to the conception or design of the research, execution of the study, data collection, data analysis, or interpretation of the findings.
  2. Drafting or Reviewing the Manuscript: Actively participated in drafting the manuscript or critically revising it for important intellectual content.
  3. Final Approval of the Version to be Published: Read and officially approved the final version of the manuscript to be submitted to the journal for publication.
  4. Accountability for the Work: Agreed to be fully accountable for their contribution and to help ensure that any questions related to the accuracy, integrity, or ethics of any part of the work are appropriately investigated and resolved.

3. Author Contribution Statement
Every manuscript submitted to Alamtara is highly encouraged to include an author contribution statement explaining the specific role of each author in conducting the research and writing the article. Contributions may include conceptualization, methodology, data collection, formal analysis, drafting the initial manuscript, reviewing and editing, supervision, and project administration, corresponding to the actual roles performed. This statement must be honest and accurate.

4. Author Order and Corresponding Author
The order of authorship must be a joint decision of the co-authors based on the level of intellectual and scientific contribution. The order should not be determined solely by academic degree, structural position, seniority, or financial backing. The Corresponding Author takes primary responsibility for communication with the journal's editorial team during the manuscript submission, peer-review, and publication process. They must ensure that all administrative requirements—including the provision of details regarding author identities, affiliations, author order, and the consent of all authors—are completed correctly.

5. Contributors Who Do Not Meet Authorship Criteria
Individuals whose contributions are limited to technical assistance, routine data collection, language editing, administrative support, acquisition of funding, or general supervision of a research group do not qualify for authorship. Such contributions should be recognized in the Acknowledgement section, provided the individuals have given their permission to be named.

6. Changes in Authorship
Any addition, deletion, or rearrangement of author names in the authorship list after manuscript submission (during the review process and prior to publication) must be accompanied by a clear, logical justification and written consent from all original authors. The Editorial Board reserves the right to request supporting documents (e.g., an Authorship Change Form) before considering the request. Changes are generally not permitted after the manuscript has been published.

7. Authorship Integrity and Ethics
All authors are responsible for ensuring that the submitted manuscript is original, references are ethically cited, and the work is free from plagiarism. Unethical authorship practices, including honorary/guest authorship, unauthorized authorship, and ghost authorship, are strictly prohibited. Alamtara will take appropriate editorial action if allegations of authorship misconduct are discovered.

8. Author Agreement Statement
By submitting a manuscript to Alamtara, the Corresponding Author states and warrants on behalf of all co-authors that all listed authors meet the authorship criteria, have approved the final submitted version of the manuscript, agreed upon the order of authors, and accept public responsibility for the content of the manuscript.
